There are a lot of components that go into being successful in business. Many are related to your personal characteristics, traits and skills, such as leadership skill, decisiveness or follow-through.
There’s one component that has always been a factor but has only recently been talked about openly and honestly.
That component is your mindset.
I don’t mean having a “positive mindset”. I’m talking about something deeper and more significant.
As you’ll often hear me say, your business can only grow as much as you do.
When you own the business – or serve in a key leadership position – your personal beliefs, issues and conflicts will be reflected in the business. If you have fears, doubts or confidence issues, they will show up in your business. If you have money issues, that will show up in the business.
Smart business owners and executives recognize this. Those in denial will struggle, robbing themselves of the opportunity to resolve the problem and move forward.
At each step in the life and growth of your business, you will be challenged to step out of your comfort zone. After all, you’ve already got what your current comfort zone will allow. If you want anything more – anything…you will have to step out of your level of comfort to achieve it.
“Your life is formed by the perspectives and philosophies you adopt, and changing your perspective can create an immediate shift in your life and business.” ~ Peter Voogd
Resistance and struggle show up the strongest when new opportunities appear because taking advantage of a new opportunity often requires that you do new things or be open to new, expanded experiences. Old conflicts flare up in the form of doubt, insecurity, fears and misguided – often hidden – beliefs, all of which can lead to self-sabotage.
As any successful business owner or leader can tell you, it’s not always easy. Sometimes, it’s down right hard!
“It’s not about the goal. It’s about becoming the person who can accomplish that goal.” ~ Tony Robbins
While stepping out of your comfort zone is something you have to do alone, you don’t have to do it by yourself. Working with a coach can help you ease and shorten the transition and allow you to move faster to your goals with the support you need to walk through the fears. That “voice on your shoulder” can be silenced – or at least the volume turned down – and you can achieve your big dream for your business.
I work with business owners, leaders and those in an executive role to identify and address old patterns so that you can use “aha” moments to develop insight, new skills and courage to overcome these obstacles and create the business – and the life – that you want for yourself.
Investing in yourself to overcome these challenges is just one of the advantages of working with a coach. With a new perspective – along with the knowledge and tools needed to grow your business – you are better equipped to achieve the business results that you want, and to lead your business into being the dream you had for it when you started it.
I know you’re ready. Let’s do it!
